Worried about what you are "really" eating? Have peace of mind with pasture grazed meats.
We try to align our farm with nature and natures laws. It is much easier raising animals in accordance with natural laws than to try and raise animals outside of natures order. For example, if you time your cows to calve in the winter months (against natural order), you will need to spend more money feeding hay and working with sick animals.
I was recently reminded of how this holds true to the food we purchase versus the health care costs we incur. During a recent presentation, Dr. Stephanie Hartman of the University of Nebraska Medical Center shared that 90% of the almost 5 Trillion dollars we spend on health care can be prevented with diet.
The simple natural law is that the more you spend on food (sourcing, preparing yourself) the lower your health care costs. Sometimes the extra cost isn’t in dollars, it might just be the extra work and inconvenience you put in to growing and preparing your own food. Put in the effort, you’re worth it.
It’s actually pretty simple, shop the edge of your grocery store and do not shop the middle of the grocery store. Ultra-processed foods with ingredients your body will not recognize is found in the middle of the grocery store. Shop the edge and nourish your body with real food. See this past post “How to Shop for a Healthy Diet“, of course we encourage you to support your local farmer.
