2022 Grass-fed – Grass finished beef

The term “grass-fed” (grassfed) and “grass finished” continues to create some confusion among the general public. Then, of course, we call our beef Pasture Grazed (an effort to distinguish and define what we do). If you are interested in 100% grass-fed and 100% grass finished beef, then that is what we do here at DS Family Farm. We call this beef “Pasture Grazed“. No grains ever. We deliver a product via negativity. In other words, we try to get out of the way, do less, and let nature do the work! Trust us, the cattle know what they need when they need it. We just try to manage in sync with nature. We do less to give you more. Fewer inputs and processing provide you with the cleanest beef experience possible.

DS Family Farm 2022 Pasture Grazed Beef Examples
Note horizontal “happy lines” across the belly.
Dark spot in front of shoulder, lower neck, indicates a very healthy active adrenal gland.
A few years ago we purchased some cows from a grass dairy so this guy looks a little different from the rest of the herd but only by the color of hair. Doug actually pulled this animal out of a badger hole the day he was born. Mom didn’t pick a good location for having her calf that year.
Smooth lines indicate the animal is finishing well.
Nice typical grass fed and finished beef, note wrinkles along neck.
Compact and full of beef.
Ears up, bright eyes, wrinkled neck, happy lines, smooth cover, active adrenal gland… a model of health.
