Bionutrient Beef Data Dump

Back in 2022, we submitted three ribeye beef samples to the Bionutrient Beef Study. We received some data results in 2023 and posted them through our blog, a listing of each post is available through this link: Tag: bionutrient beef. You can visit the “Nutrient Density in Beef Data Dashboard” to investigate a summary of all of the data submitted during the study (multiple farms provided samples). March of 2026 the first paper from the data analysis was published, “Nutritional composition of beef: a comparison of commercial North American grass- and grain- finishing systems“.

Below, we repost the results from the paper linked above using the Papers Graphical Abstract:

Scroll down to find a listing (data dump) of the results we received from participating in the study. Some of our data was lost. Portions of our data made it into the final dashboard (linked above). Some of the data below was interpolated from the first results we received before reaching the dashboard.

Dan Kittredge, of the Bionutrient Food Association, recently revealed that the “final” effort of the overall study will be a paper that lists eight (8) key indicators that identify “nutrient density” in beef. He did reveal that two of the indicators are the Omega-6 and Omega-3 ratio, which we have been tracking for over a decade here at DS Family Farm (Omega6:3). One can easily see the value of this study, where the researchers were able to link soils, feed, live animal manure excretion, management, and all the listed lab results to come up with eight things to key in on. Just trying to look at the lab indicators below and summarize is impossible. We look forward to the final analysis results to see how our beef does when reviewing the other six key indicators. Stay tuned…
